I saw this and instantly loved it.  A great reminder.

Fire Station

Mady had a field trip to the fire station this morning.  The firefighters were very sweet with the kids an showed them all around.  They were able to sit in the firetrucks and hold the hoses.  

There was also a game of hopscotch.  I guess girls will be girls no matter where they are!

Fort Wayne Zoo

I packed up the kiddos, met my friend Dusti and her kids, and headed to the Fort Wayne Zoo.  We had beautiful weather and a great time.  

Six kids.  Two moms.  One very long day.

And we rocked it.

Lunch Friends & Freezer Cooking

We met our dear friend Kathy for lunch after school today.  She was Mady's preschool teacher last year and Mady loves her so much.  We all do.  It was wonderful to catch up with her.

 

 

After lunch, Owen took a nap, Mady did puzzles, and I worked on freezer meals.  I have been wanting to do some freezer cooking.  Spend a day or two cooking my heart out, and have meals ready to go during the week.  Kroger had a great deal on chicken this week so I stocked up and made some crock pot freezer meals.  They were super easy.  The most time consuming part of the process was looking for recipes I wanted to try and making the grocery list.  I spent a little less than two hours and got 8 meals.  They are large enough that they will feed our family at least two nights, and probably still have some left for lunches.  One nap time and 8 meals equals a success in my book!

Target Trip

Does a week ever go by without a trip to Target?  For us, not usually.  We had to venture there today to pick up a few items.  

Luckily, this momma has wisened up when it comes to shopping with two young children.  Food works wonders.  So do slushes, my method of choice today.

I was happy to find the pumpkin spice m&ms there.  I had been wanting to try them and was looking forward to making some sort of fall treat.  Have to say that I am not a fan.  Not all things are meant to be pumpkin flavored.  Here's hoping they taste better baked in a cookie.

Guffey Acres Field Trip

We spent our morning at Guffey Acres for Mady's preschool field trip.  We were blessed with a beautiful day for our outing! 

The classes rotated through different stations.  The kids loved the corn box.

And the bounce pillow.

And petting the animals.

We had a great time!

Another Monday, Another Park Visit

Owen and I braved the morning cold and paid Jackson Morrow another visit.  I was chilly but he had a blast. 

His highlight was the tractor we saw.  The lady was nice enough to let him sit in it as well.  Doesn't get much better for this boy than the park and a tractor.

Church Picnic

This was a great afternoon for our church picnic.  There were bounce houses for the kids, which they loved.

There was a playground too.  Aunt Kathy came and had fun on the swings with Mady.

After dinner, we headed to the amphitheater for worship and testimonies.  It was an awesome set up.  They handed out bubbles for the kids to play with.  

I am so glad we went tonight.  We had a great time!

Beautiful Saturday

What a beautiful day.  Sunshine.  Crisp air.  Clear sky.  Perfect for putting on a sweatshirt and playing outside.

Long Night

We lost power during the storms last night.  The thunder paired with the extreme darkness gave us a very scared little red head.  

Mady, not me of course.  :)  

After a long night, I was happy to be able to spend the day at home.  After nap time, it was dry enough for us to play outside.  

Yes.  Owen is still in his pajamas.  That is just how we roll around here sometimes.

Book Club

Oh book club, how I love thee.  Good books, good food, and great conversations and girl time.  

Alicia joined us via Skype from the future.  Also known as Australia at 6:00 AM the next day.  Technology these days!

Busy, busy!

This weekend was a busy one.  

We played outside a lot.

Mom took Mady to get her first manicure and pedicure.

We finished it up Sunday with church, Mady and I making the preschool snack, and family time.

Today, Mady was invited to a friend's house to play after school.  Good thing I had such a cute lunch date.  :)

We even went for frozen yogurt.

He picked the hat himself and insisted in wearing it everywhere today.  :)

Blueberry Mufins

Owen and I spent this beautiful fall morning at the library and running errands.  While he napped, Mady and I tried out a new blueberry muffin recipe.  She loves to bake and help me in the kitchen.

Puzzles!

Today was a dreary morning, perfect for staying home.  I had an appointment so Aunt Kathy came to watch the kiddos.  Mady roped her into doing puzzles all morning. They had so much fun.

Mady loves her ballet class and looks forward to it each week!  

Banishing the Monday Blahs

Owen and I tend to run errands while Mady is at preschool.  Today, we didn't have anyplace we needed to go so we spent the morning at Jackson Morrow Park.  We took a long walk on the walking path and played, played, played at the playground.  We were both pooped, but only one of us got a two hour nap afterwards.  :)
